Volunteers are needed for our 2020 Summer Day Camps! Check out our Volunteer Expectations and Guidelines and complete the form to apply!!
Volunteers play an integral part of Mid-Sun’s success and we encourage youth that are at least 13 years old to join us as a volunteer. Volunteering with Mid-Sun Summer Day Camps is a tremendous way to build confidence, meet new friends, gain real-world work experience – all while having fun! We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of one full week of camp.
Mid-Sun Summer Day Camps is always eager for new youth to join our volunteer program, and are always excited to see returning volunteers. For an idea of what it is like to be a volunteer with the Mid-Sun Summer Day Camps please take a look at our 2020 Volunteer Expectations and Guidelines – the information in this document may be subject to change for 2020 volunteer applications. Volunteer application packages with apparel requests are due May 9th, 2020. Volunteer application packages without apparel requests are due June 10th, 2020. Please note there are limited quantities of volunteer supplies; once they are gone we are no longer able to accept volunteers (so please apply early)!

*MID-SUN CPR AND FIRST AID TRAINING*
Mid-Sun Community Association is offering a CPR and First Aid course for potential volunteers and staff on MAY 30-31 2020. Volunteers are not required to have CPR, however, it is a valuable skill to have especially when working with children! Our Camp Leaders are required to have CPR certification, so it is an asset if a volunteer is interested in applying for a leader position in the future. Please indicate on your volunteer application if you are interested in taking the training, or email Julia Gerritsen at email@example.com.
The CPR training will cost $140.00 and will take place at the MidSun Community Center (50 Midpark Rise SE).
*We are offering an incentive to completing CPR training; if you volunteer for 6 or more of the 9 weeks of camp, you will be offered a FULL REFUND for the CPR training at the end of the summer.*
Leaders are the reason why Mid-Sun Summer Day Camps is consistently known for being an excellent, fun, and safe choice for summertime childcare. Being a Leader means ensuring the well-being and enjoyment of all campers, while also acting as a role model for both children and youth volunteers. We strive ourselves on our excellence of our leaders, and their positive impact on the community. If you want to have a long-lasting impact in your community, and gain real-world experience working with children, then we want you!
Please note: All hiring positions for summer 2020 have been paused until further notice due to the hiring freeze at the Mid-Sun Community Association in relation to the pandemic. Please note that this includes Junior, Temporary, and Lifeguard/Leader positions.
We will make an announcement once this freeze has been lifted.
